Christ Church Cheltenham

Worship

As a Christian community, our primary calling is to worship the living God. Christians believe that Jesus has made God known to us. Jesus calls us to worship God ‘in spirit and in truth’. Labels can be misleading but, to help you, we could say that Christ Church is ‘broadly evangelical’ in its outlook. That is to say, we value the Bible, and look to enjoy a personal experience of God through his Holy Spirit. In our Sunday worship, we look to combine ‘the best of the old with the best of the new’. A robed choir, alongside a worship group, helps to lead our worship.

8.00 services are a lovely, peaceful way to start the day. There’s no music, but about 25 people meet for early communion. We alternate ‘old’ and ‘new’ services. 10.30 services are (in terms of numbers) our ‘main event’. We look to cater for the whole family (see Youth and Children) and deploy both our choir and worship group. 6.30 services give us the option of doing something different, from the formal beauty of Choral Evensong to occasional Worship Celebrations via meditative, Taize-style worship.

You would be most welcome to join us.
